Set Your Receptionist Up With A Modern Workstation

If you are going to be opening an architectural business, you want to promote an air of professionalism when dealing with your current and potential clients. If you plan on welcoming people to stop by your office to consult with you, the first person who will meet with those who have appointments is your receptionist. Provide your receptionist with a modern reception station that will be both functional and attractive.

Choose The Station Material And Shape

If you want to add a futuristic touch to the station, choose a chunky art deco design that consists of an irregular shape and that is constructed of glass, metal, and polished stone. If a simplistic style is more your preference, then opt for a station that contains sleek lines and that is a solid color. A laminate or vinyl surface's appearance will be easy to uphold and can withstand heavy usage.

There should be ample cabinet and desk space so that documents can be neatly organized or concealed. If you would like your receptionist to use a filing system to stow away documents that are not currently needed, then choose an under-the-counter filing cabinet so that the cabinet will not interfere with the orderliness of the work area. Add a calendar, office supply organizer, and small lamp to the top of the desk that is inside of the station.

Add Elegant Decorations

You want each person to feel welcome and to enjoy the time that is spent at your business. Drop lighting that includes strands that are adorned with glass pieces or a chandelier that contains a cover that resembles stained glass will add class to the station.

Choose faux or real flowers to create arrangements that can be used to enhance the station's countertop or the end tables that are adjacent to the area where the receptionist sits. Remember to stay in tune to the four seasons by having the floral arrangements switched out regularly so that the flowers are symbolic of the time of the year.

Install A New Phone System

Don't settle for an older phone model that isn't capable of retrieving several calls at once. This type of phone could prevent you from receiving important calls and could cause your clients to become frustrated.

A new phone system that includes paging capabilities, voicemail, and callback features will allow your receptionist to intercept each call as it is received. Install separate phones in various departments inside of the building so that your other employees can retrieve phone calls as needed.
