Are You Decorating Your Young Son's Bedroom?
Consider the different beds your son has slept in. First, there might have been the tiny cradle that you kept right by your bed when your baby was a newborn. Then, he probably moved into a crib in his own room. After the crib, there might have been a toddler bed. Was there a twin bed next? Now that your little guy is older, you might be decorating his bedroom all over again and even adding a new bed.
From buying wood bunk beds that have storage as part of their design to buying accent pieces, here are some ideas that might help you to design a fun and attractive room where your son and his buddies can spend time.
Choose Bunk Beds: Your son might have asked for bunk beds so that there would be an extra place for his buddies to sleep when they spent the night. Metal bunk beds are one idea. For example, bright red metal bunk beds would add color to your son's room. They'd be great if you are wanting a red, white, and blue American theme. Metal bunk beds will last a long time, and they are super affordable.
Another idea is to select wooden bunk beds. While they might cost a bit more than the metal ones would, selecting wooden bunk beds that have storage as part of their design might save you money since you won't have to buy a separate chest of drawers. Wooden bunk beds come in so many styles that you might have trouble making a choice. Unless your redecorating project is a surprise, consider taking your son with you so that he can select the bunk beds himself.
Choose Accent Pieces: If you went with metal bunk beds, you might still have to buy a chest of drawers. There are great metal ones that will provide either a rustic look or a contemporary look in your son's bedroom.
If you went with wooden bunk beds that had storage as part of their design, that just means that there will be additional space for other accent pieces. For example, in the space where a chest of drawers might have been, think of having something like bean bag chairs. Will your son be doing homework in his room? If so, consider getting a desk that has space for a computer.
Decorate with your son's favorite interests. For example, if he is a Star Wars fan, buy posters from those movies for the walls. If your son loves the idea of traveling around the world, frame posters of places like Paris, Africa, and Machu Pichu.
